Mi Valentino

Day 1: Justin and I started our weekend off with one of our favorite meals, sushi! Tangerine (off of Abercorn Street) was the hot-spot. We were seated in this romantic, circular booth and while we waited on our dinner, we played a little game of people watching. After a reasonably, short wait…. Dinner was served!

A delicious feast for two! Followed by a movie, Black Swan! Whew, what a show. I was aware that the film had won awards, I heard it was intense, BUT Justin and I were taken for a loop by the dramatic scenes. No doubt the movie deserved the awarded recognition, but due to sexual content and language, I can’t recommend the film to my mother, but it was mind-blowing. Our celebratory, Valentine’s date of dinner and a movie was perfect, and I couldn’t have asked for more.

Day 2: Bonna Bella Yacht Club for a $10 Bucket of Oysters with friends! We met up with a few of my Savannahian friends: Megan & Greg, Liz & Bobby, Derrick, Courtney, Kim, Julie, and Sam to soak up some of our weekend sunshine by the River. We shucked oysters and had a great time.

Day 3: Began with church at Savannah Christian, followed by lunch at our favorite dining spot, The Distillery! The weather was too perfect to miss out, so we ordered our favorite meal of Fish Tacos and Sweet Potato Fries to share out on the deck. The high 60º temperature made the afternoon ideal. We continue our outside adventures, by fishing! {One of Justin’s favorite activities.} Out of curiosity, we decided to cast a few times in my too-small-to-have-bass pond before heading to the state park. Justin’s first cast proved our too-small-to-have-bass theory wrong with this exciting surprise….

Justin's Bass

A bass, and not a small one! Needless to say, we never made it to the state park. We spent the majority of the afternoon hoping to catch another. It was this evening that we decided to stop by another one of our favorite spots, La Berry! This is a self-serve, frozen yogurt shop on Broughton Street in downtown Savannah. We love La Berry, and all of the fruity flavors and toppings they have to offer.

Day 4: Our last and final day/morning together. I was super surprised when Justin received news he could stay until Monday morning. And even more excited when he surprised me with a Falcons jersey. Not just any jersey, my favorite team AND my favorite player, Roddy White. :) I can’t wait until the 2011 football season, when the Falcons dominate and Roddy takes the team all the way to the Super Bowl… just saying! Later in the day, I was surprised at work by a delectable, Edible Arrangement, another of my favorites, adorned with an adorable teddy bear.

Edible Arrangement - Yum!

Justin made this Valentine’s Day one to remember, and I couldn’t be more grateful for him and his love. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful relationship and appreciative of our time together. I look forward to each moment we can share because {for the time} those moments are few and far between.
