Friends are Friends Forever

The Gang reunites! Becca, Mallory, Marla, Megan, Sarah, and I shared a wonderful weekend together in St. Simon’s Island. Before this trip, it’d be hard to note the last time we were all together for more than 10 minutes at church! So, we decided to plan a girls weekend and to combine Mallory’s 24th Birthday celebration into the mix. On Friday, we hit the road to begin the fun! The center of the party was the home of long-time friend, Becca Sheffield Turner. It was here that we met her adorable puppy, Dash! He is the most loving pup I’ve ever met, and he loves to cuddle. {Aka, the perfect pup for me!}

Friday evening, we hit the town for one of our favorite eats, Mexican food! It was a fiesta for us at Bubba Garcia’s Cantina. With all of us chattering, we relived some of our favorite moments together and filled each other in on life as we know it now. It’s moments like these I’m reminded of how blessed I am to have wonderful, life-long friends. Before calling it a night, we gathered on Becca’s front porch for some heart-to-heart convos, lots of laughs, and new memories.

Waffles & Fruit

To kick off Saturday morning, Becca and I joined forces to whip-up some delicious, homemade waffles with fresh fruit and coffee! Yum, what a way to start the morning. Hours later, we managed to stroll up to Brogan’s for lunch on the deck, plus more laughter and chatter! The afternoon itinerary included shopping, napping, and nails at one of Mallory’s favorite shops and one of Becca’s regular stops. At one of SSI’s favorite, little boutiques, I found an adorable and affordable pair of shorts for this summer! I can’t wait to show them off. :) Then it was off for a girlie treat of a mani-pedi at the infamous, Rosalie’s. While my nails were drying, it occurred to me that despite the physical distance in miles that all of us are separated by, nothing can separate our friendship. When we all get together, the best memories are still made. With several recommendations to try Fancy Q’s Sushi, dinner was decided! With sushi rolls to-go, we dined at home with a chick-flick, Love and Other Drugs.

Me, Mal, & Meg

As our fabulous weekend was coming to a close, we took a stroll to Cafe Frederica for brunch. It was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend. Sadly, we all departed going our separate ways, and moving on with our lives… Despite our different personalities, styles, and life-stages, at the end of the day it is this group of wonderful ladies who will forever hold a special place in my life. From high school to babies, we’ve been through so much together, we can only look forward to the future and the many adventures we will accomplish together, whether in spirit or side-by-side… Friends are friends forever!
