I am so blessed.

“A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside.” Pooh

Seven. The lucky number of times I’ve stood beside loved ones as they said their wedding vows.

It’s become a joke that I’ll be in the sequel of 27 Dresses if I accept the duties of a bridesmaid again – but what an honor it is to accept. I’ve termed events such as bridal showers, engagement parties, and bachelorette parties as wedding hoopla. Since 2009, wedding hoopla has been a part-time job! I seriously couldn’t begin to list all of the wedding hoopla I’ve planned, participated in, and traveled for. But at the end of the day, I’m so blessed.

Dinner with the HousewivesThroughout my various bridesmaid experiences, I’ve gained new friends, seen new places, and of course – bought several new dresses! Although, it’s the memories that are priceless. For Mallory’s bachelorette party – I had my first taste of Savannah. We trudged down Congress Street searching for the ever-so-popular Savannah Smiles until our feet were bleeding from our new heels. Little did I know, that one day I’d consider the City my home. At Megan’s bachelorette party – we experienced Charleston’s finest. I celebrated Megan’s happiness with new friends and rocked my blonde wig {short bob with bangs} while quoting Vivian from the hit film, Pretty Woman. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to future wedding hoopla and will never forget all of the fabulous memories I’ve experienced throughout it all. I am so blessed.

Delicious DessertsThese pictures are from the most recent wedding hoopla for Sarah & Matthew! The next few months will be all about Sarah. With showers, parties, and registries… Sarah is the star. Sarah & Matthew have only known each other for a few months, but according to them – their love was instant. Matthew is originally from Tifton, Georgia – where this engagement party was held. His friends through a beautiful, casual/cocktail party and invited the whole gang. We all gathered at Sarah & Matthew‘s home prior to the party – to chat and get dressed for the evening. It was these moments that we caught up on pregnancy updates, new careers, and a few surprises. After sharing a favorite recipe with friends, we piled into cars to head across town for an evening of treats. The house was breathtaking. Decorated like an image in a Pottery Barn catalog. From throw pillows to Paula Deen furniture, the place was immaculate – absolutely perfect. The hostess couple truly made Sarah’s engagement party memorable.

M & SWe were greeted with smiles as we met Matthew’s friends. Aside from the beautiful decor, it was memorable to meet Sarah & Matthew‘s “Tifton friends” and to put faces with names. Now, let me mention dessert. It was magnificent, with sweet raspberry pie, delectable chocolate treats, cookies, and more…. It was as beautiful as it was sweet. The evening ended with late night Ni-Ni’s and girl talk. We heard tales of new jobs and our sides ached from laughter at implausible mother-in-law, horror stories. It was such a blessed gathering, to share time with old friends and new friends, while celebrating the love of a wonderful couple. It’s memories like these that make the duties of a bridesmaid so worth it. I am blessed.

Healthy SaladsThe weekend drew to an end when Megan and I arrived safely back in Savannah, Georgia. We wandered over to Liz & Bobby’s house (aka The Schorr Party House) for what we’ve deemed family dinner. It’s our Savannah family dinner. We get together – usually on Sunday evenings, sometimes during the week – for dinner, drinks, and delight. We share the highs and lows of the past week, catch up on gossip we’ve missed out on, and laugh over YouTube videos we’ve seen 1,000 times. It’s a time for all of the gang to get together and share a meal. {This week, that amazingly, beautiful salad.} At the end of the day, it’s these people who have helped me fall in love with Savannah. It’s these people who make it easier being 4 hours from family and friends. There is something about combining a delicious meal with new friends that reminds me - I am blessed.
